Brother Nathanael Refutes ‘Jews For Judaism’
Here we go again!
Another rabbinic repudiation of what The Church has believed and acculturated into civilization for two thousand years. [Clip]
[“Christian missionaries like Jews for Jesus claim that Jesus is the Jewish messiah. Why has Judaism rejected this assertion for 2000 years?”]
Same reason why they rejected Moses, tried to stone him, killed the prophets, and worshipped idols instead of God.
It’s in the “Tanach,” of which the rabbi relies. [Clip]
[“The concept of the messiah has its foundation in our Jewish bible, the Tanach, which clearly teaches that all of the following criteria must be fulfilled before any person can be acknowledged as the messiah.”]
Like Bar Kochba?
The imposter that Rabbi Akiba hailed as messiah in 130 AD with enormous devotees.
He incited the Roman Empire to crush Jerusalem decisively.
His “credentials” didn’t quite cut it.
Or Sabbatei Zvi?
The fraud who gained wide popularity throughout the Jewish world and later became a Muslim.
He had all the “credentials” to suddenly give his massive following the royal shaft.
And lately, Rebbe Menachem Schneerson of Chabad House.
His devotees, who hailed him as “moschiach,” sat around his grave hoping he’d rise from the dead.
He didn’t. [Clip]
[“Number one: When the messiah is reigning as king of Israel, the Jewish people will be ingathered from the two-thousand-year exile and will return to Israel their homeland. However Jesus never reigned as king and the Jewish people have not yet all returned to live in their promised homeland of Israel.”]
Jesus “never reigned as king” because the Jewish leaders ‘kangarooed’ Him into being crucified.
His resurrection, however, and kingship—both of which David foretold throughout the Psalter—affirms Jesus Christ as Lord Who now reigns over all who will submit to His rule.
Frankly, no Jewish person is in “exile” today.
Freedom to practice Judaism in its established rabbinic form is enjoyed worldwide.
The “exile”—which meant a denial of Temple worship—ended under Ezra in 430 BC, when a portion of Israelites returned to the land.
The rabbi quotes Isaiah 11?
A fifth grader will tell you the prophet foretells the “ingathering” from the Babylonian, Egyptian, and Persian world.
Already happened. [Clip]
[“Number two: the holy temple in Jerusalem will be rebuilt. Actually, the temple was still standing in Jesus day. It was destroyed 38 years after Jesus’ crucifixion, and it has not yet been rebuilt.”]
It has.
The Tanach “clearly” states that the temple after it was destroyed by the Babylonians in 587 BC—which Judaism calls Tisha B’Av—was REBUILT under Zerubbabel in 515 BC.
The temple Ezekiel had a vision of was a conditional promise, IF ALL The People returned.
They didn’t.
They preferred the prosperity of Babylon. [Clip]
[“Number three: there will be worldwide peace, universal disarmament, and a complete end to war. Yet, since the advent of Christianity, wars have increased dramatically in the world. Some of them were actually fought in the name of Jesus.”]
Ehh…as populations grow wars grow too.
As for fighting “in the name of Jesus” it was to defend against non-Christian invaders.
I would ask the rabbi what Netanyahu would say about “fighting” in the “name of Israel?”
Nu? [Clip]
[“Number Four: The messiah will reign as king at a time when all the Jewish people will embrace the torah and observe God’s commandments.”]
Don’t hold your breath.
Isaiah says only a “remnant” will believe.
God says the same to Elijah.
The rabbi anticipates the Jewish people will actually observe the “613 Commandments” that the Talmud stipulates.
But Moses did not form a systematic religion named “613 Commandments.”
Moses handed down the Hebraic religion rooted in priesthood, temple worship, and written law, most of which is linked to participation in temple worship.
The priesthood is gone, thus any standing temple’s a sham, so let’s do “613!” [Clip]
[“Number five: The messiah will rule at a time when all the people of the world will come to acknowledge and serve the one true God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob.”]
But Isaiah says,
“Who has believed our report?” about the Messiah.
And David says, “Messiah will be a reproach to His people, and His crown cast to the ground.” [Clip]
[“Number six: The messiah must be a member of the tribe of Judah and a direct descendant of King David and king Solomon. Genealogy in the Bible is only passed down from father to son.”]
Not in Tanach.
For with the daughters of Zelophehad it did, as Moses decreed, pass from father to daughters. [Clip]
[“There is no evidence that Jesus really had this pedigree, and the Christian Bible actually claims that he did not have a birth father from the tribe of Judah descending from David and Solomon.”]
Jesus has two written pedigrees of two different branches descending from King David–one through Solomon, the other through Nathan.
Both are in the Gospels, copied from temple records.
AND affirmed by Jesus’ disciples, including His mother, all alive during His ministry.
Jesus’ genealogy was never challenged by His adversaries, not once.
But where is your ‘messiah’s genealogy, dear rabbi?
No one today can prove he’s from the tribe of Judah, or David, or Solomon.
All the tribal genealogies are lost forever.
I’m still waiting to refute a true Jewish scholar.
Anybody?
Dear Brother Nathanael, the Bible doesn’t say explicitly that the seed/genealogy from the father is only present in the male child, but strongly suggest that only the male can transmit his genealogy. In other words, but male and female receive the same genealogy from the father, but can only be transmitted by the male child.
But the Virgin Mary is a unique case without a human father; this means that the human nature of Jesus is a double of Mary … which contains the genealogy of King David. The Holy Spirit modified the ADN of the double of Mary to make it a male gender.
What Bible are you reading?
In Ezra, chapters 9 and 10, the men of Israel are admonished for having fathered children with foreign women and are forced to put away their foreign wives and their children. So no, the Bible doesn’t “strongly suggest” that only males transmit their genealogy. On the contrary. As for blessed Mary, the way Christ was conceived in her womb is a mystery that only God understands. Any attempt to explain it is futile.
Good job Nat. You nailed it. I wish he would hear this an reply.
