Brother Nathanael Refutes Ben Shapiro
I grew up in traditional Judaism.
From that purview Shapiro is easy to refute.
I dispute from three pillars of Judaism:
Biblical, historical, rabbinic.
Three strikes you’re out! [Clip]
[“So, you’re not waiting for the messiah to come.” “Right.” “He’s not coming and the…” “I’m waiting for the messiah to come in the form of a political figure, right? So the messiah in Judaism is a guy who is gonna come back and is going to establish peace in Israel and is going to assure that, you know, there’s a sort of a happier world with a bunch of political aspects to it as explained by Maimonides, but he’s going to die, too, right? He’s not gonna come back and everybody lives forever and any of that kind of stuff.” “He’s a corporeal agent, he’s just like us, right?” “Yeah, and then the Jewish view is any person could be the messiah. Any Jew could be the messiah. I could be it. Who knows?”]
I know.
No way!
I studied with the Chabad Chasidic rabbis.
They say you can’t be messiah unless you are from the tribe of Judah and of King David’s clan.
No Jew since Hadrian, Emperor of Rome—who destroyed the Jewish genealogies in 128 AD—can prove he’s from Judah, nor from David.
The only existing written and published genealogies out of ancient Israel are those tracing the ancestry of the Lord Jesus Christ, the rightful and final heir to King David’s throne.
Yet the rabbis say when their messiah comes he’ll ‘show his papers.’
Tall order.
After 2500 years in Diaspora, intermarriage between the tribes, lost genealogies, ‘paper proof’ don’t cut it.
Same as the priesthood.
The pedigree of the three clans of Levi serving in the temple are extinct.
Ezra the scribe would agree, surely one’s word don’t cut it.
No tickee no laundry.
A ‘reincarnated’ messiah?
Kabbalah crap.
‘Political’ messiah?
Maimonides said otherwise.
Religious through and through would be messiah, Maimonides taught.
So very religious, that messiah would somehow, (I don’t see how with all the genealogies gone forever), reinstitute the priesthood, sacrifices, and temple worship.
Ezra on Repeat:
No tickee no laundry.
From a rabbinic point of view Shapiro strikes out.
Strike 2. [Clip]
[“Why don’t you accept Jesus as the Messiah?” “Okay, so the reason that I don’t accept Jesus is the Messiah is because I think that a lot of the arguments in fit–Jesus as the Messiah is a different figure than anything that exists inside Judaism. So when people say that Judaism predicts the coming of Christ, the change in the nature of what Christ is, what a messiah would be, is different from Judaism to Christianity. So Judaism never posited that there would be God come to form in physical form, come to earth in physical form, and then you know, acting out in the world in, in that way. Judaism posits that God is beyond space and time. Occasionally he intervenes in history, but he doesn’t take physical form. It’s one of the key beliefs of Judaism, actually–” “Right.” “–isn’t a corporeal God, so that means that it’s, the idea is actually foreign to Judaism of a merged God-man who then is, who is God in physical form but then dies and is resurrected in all this.”]
Shapiro shows his ignorance of Tanach, Old Testament Holy writ, being un-educated in Judaism by the modernistic, “college prep” yeshiva he attended in high school.
God indeed, dear Benjie, “acted out in a physical human way,” throughout the Old Testament.
God appeared in human form to Abraham who ate a meal with God.
God appeared to Moses in human form who saw God’s “feet” standing on a crystal-clear pavement.
God appeared to Joshua in human form who saw God with “sword in hand” as “Captain of the Lord’s army.”
God appeared to Ezekiel in human form who saw God with “a hand,” “as a man,” “sitting” on a throne fixed upon a crystal-clear pavement.
Daniel saw the same.
If Shapiro knew the Psalms—read in full every Sabbath service—he would hear, if he had ears to hear, of King Messiah being Divine, as the “anointed” God-man, Who would not languish in the grave, but resurrect from the dead.
Isaiah calls Messiah, “God With Us.”
Micah says Messiah’s “going forth is from everlasting.”
David too, in Psalm 110, says Messiah pre-exists eternally, “from the womb before the morning.”
From a biblical point of view Shapiro strikes out.
Strike 3. [Clip]
[“So I was curious, by the way, that you know, the ancient Jews said the Sheol, and you don’t go anywhere after your death, right?” “Yeah, the idea of the afterlife is a pretty modern invention in Judaism. It really only crops up, historically speaking, a little bit in the prophets, and it’s usually the late prophets, and it’s really maybe as a response to early Christianity or, or Greek thought. So, yeah, in the Bible itself there’s no reference. In the Torah, there’s no reference to the afterlife.”]
Wrong.
“Historically speaking,” very wrong.
It “cropped up” quite early in Genesis—(doesn’t get earlier than that),–with Enoch “taken up” by God before he died.
“Cropped up again,” (pretty early I’d say), during Abraham’s day, with Job saying God would “call Job from the grave and Job would answer God.”
Moses—last time I checked an early arrival—spoke with God about who’d be blotted out of God’s “book of life.”
David said Messiah would “not see corruption” but enjoy “life evermore.”
If the Pharisees during Jesus’ day vehemently believed in the resurrection, not sure how “modern an invention” the “afterlife” is in Judaism, as Shapiro soooo confidently says.
Quite frankly, when it comes to religion, Shapiro’s a bonehead.
Maybe that’s why he joined up with Jordan Peterson.
Birds of a benighted feather flock together!
Ah, this was well argued.
Quantum Healing- Dr. Roy Martina, a medical doctor, from the Netherlands or Holland, has studied, quantum healing, he might be with A.C.A.M. (American College for Advadcement in Medicine.) Based on his studies and his practice, he uses the white female, or the idol, for healing purposes. He has studied crystalline structures, which are pink and blue. He knows, exactly which colors to use, to heal and elevate, people’s needs, at the quantum level. He uses the colors, blue, gold, gray, (black and white), purple, orange, rainbows etc. He also uses a combination of these colors, to form certain symbols, which creates, a therapeutic effect. He has a Facebook and a website. Civilizations-The history of conflict, shows that the Native Americans, were the most peaceful civilization, having several thousand years of peace. The Jewish community, had the most conflict, of all civilizations, however, it is represented as anti-semetism. The Amish, an isolated Christian group, were considered to be, as happy as billionaires.
